Kilauea — F1cam Kīlauea Fissure

This is a USGS thermal camera (F1) at Kīlauea's summit on Hawaii Island, rendering heat rather than visible light — so it reveals active lava, hot vents, and ground temperature anomalies even through vog, steam, or darkness. Bright areas are hot; this is how the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory tracks an eruption's intensity and the movement of lava on the crater floor at any hour. During eruptions the thermal view glows with the footprint of active lava; in quiet periods it shows residual warmth in vents and fractures. Hawaii does not observe daylight saving time.
